Breezes
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
A breeze arises in the morning air,
Caressing cheek and eyelash. Then the breeze
Reeds, Grass, Wind. Free Stock Video – Pixabay
Might touch and lift the hanging curl of hair.
This softest breath brings pleasures by degrees.
A breeze arises in the noontime weight
Of heat, relieving hefty skin and flesh,
Encouraging the ever-nagging freight
To dissipate and turning summer fresh.
A breeze arises in the sundown light
And then in evening air. This breeze brings soul
Of coolness to a monastery’s night.
It is as if the air has found its goal.
Each breeze brings ordination from a palm
Frond waved in Holy Week, a blessing’s calm.
