Saw-toothed Tapeworms

Despite how giant tortoise-like the years

A man may live, his pains outweigh that length

And they are harder shelled.  They come with spears

To stab his brain and heart with deeper strength

Than time can measure.  Griefs are vampire pains.

They pierce with agony and then they drink

Brawn heart chambers, arteries and veins.

One thing aches do not do is pastel shrink.

They have to be attacked with drug-like rites

Or maybe benedictions braver than mere prayers.

Such traumas are like evil acolytes

That serve internal priests with rips and tears.

The years and decades come and go outside

Him but these parasites infest inside.
