Sacred Smorgasbord

I’ll take a business trip to death to see
What profits can be found. The wisest men
Among philosophers present us free
Advice and do not try to make a yen,
Or buck or pound. Religions, though, present
An offering plate. They offer virgins, more
Than sixty-nine, so no one will resent

Restrictions in this life if he can score
So high in bed forever. Other faiths
Insist that you will live, and live, and live
In many different forms, as traveling wraiths
From beast to beast. These shifting souls forgive.
$ome Chri$tian$ $ay you do not need to die.
A megachurch can make you God’$ rich guy.
