The Essence of Virtue and Bass Teaching

The Essence of Virtue and Bass Teaching

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

If melons were of music, they would be

As orange as Troy’s burning if that fire

Were trumpets, music all in symphony

Of melons, taste as full as male desire

For Helen.  Peonies of music would

Be strong as Buddha’s birth or, then, at least

As strong as his Enlightenment.  The wood

Of crossbeams’ palms each spiked through by High Priest

And other thugs, if musical and true,

Would be as beautiful as Christ outside

His tomb, triumphant, and Christ/Lamb with ewe

More lovely than a tune for Jesus’ bride.

All things are equal in their essence, in

Their virtue.  This sings gospel deep within.
