The Wistaria, the Black Tar Road and Bitten Moon

The Wistaria, the Black Tar Road and Bitten Moon

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

The scent, wistaria, and colors of

The clusters on the vine seem very far

Away from moon’s eclipse white blue above

The English neighborhood.  The road of tar

Seems out of place, except in England blue

Is hidden in the spring by gray the way

This earth hides white of moons and seems to chew

Away at them with shadow.  In this sway

The earth gives meaning to a larger scene,

The scene of planets, moons and suns caught up

In cosmic movement polishing and clean

And swirling, placing sin in cover-up.

The lavender and fragrance with their grace

At once now seem forever right in place.
