Told by an Idiot . . .

And signifying nothing; . . .but . . . so what?
So what if that is true? Remember, though,
The villain mouthing that. He is a butt
At best, a traitor, murderer aglow
With guilt and cowardice. He couldn’t say
No when his wife was nagging him. He blurred

What witches said. Take up his words as bray
Of royal donkey, not the final word.
You hear him and you think, “That’s true . . . and not.”
You know your life has love and meaning in
It. Staged his lines are. Do not lose the plot
Of truth because of him. Provide a bin.
The king is mad. What’s new? If you are man
Or woman, you can better that. You can.
