Water from a Universe Whole and Undivided

Water from a Universe Whole and Undivided

The perfect utterance is what “soul” seeks,

In epic, novel, sonnet, painting . . . art.

We usually attain more pygmy peeks.

We want communication from the heart

And mind pretending to be known of God

Or more than that, from something gone beyond

That superstition, something that has awed

Us in our caves and onwards, what has dawned

Forever in our crucial cores but not

Found how to prove herself, himself, or what

It is eternally.  Its “soul” forgot

In all its grandeur, thus is undercut.

We want an utterance like waterfalls

From Everest heights.  We want wide, utter calls.
