The Brevity of Erato’s Emotions

The Brevity of Erato’s Emotions

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

Imagination’s sea has haar upon

It.  If the sun is setting, then a red

Embraces mist, yet if the sun in dawn

Is wooing haze, then varied flowerbed

Pastel in colors enters in your mind.

At noon the haar begins to melt away,

A mist delinquent by your heart defined.

The mists in afternoons begin to sway

To wisps withdrawing in their seascape veils

In hopes of being left to drift along

Instead of dying as the daylight sails

Through memory like a one-time unsung song.

The orange and purple sunset pierces through

Haze souls where trust once filled the daybreak’s blue.
