Let’s call him F so he will not be nailed

By scholars as their slimy searching spies

(Supposing I have kept him velvet veiled

Inside the veins of loving blood).  Sharp eyes

Will want to wreak their worst against my heart

Long dead, their purpose to extract from lines

Their unsexed meaning.  Scholars make lines smart

With unintended meanings, sexy shrines

Of lust, if possible, from what they mine

In dust and papers from my life.  They’ll twist

Wherever possible a loving line

To crudity with naughtinesses kissed.

Kissed?  Raped, more like — their implications yanked

From innocence, with love itself outflanked.
