Seen by No One Else Under the Stars

Though quite invisible the utter kiss

Felt flung across the cosmos in its night.

The lips of both of us sang out with hiss

Though silent harmony.  Our love rang right

At last like carillon in carols sent

From Christ Himself.  No prophet was required.

No prophetess called out, “Repent!  Repent!”

Instead the music of the spheres was choired

By angels and archangels, silent though.

The most exquisite drugs perception thrill

Could never sing or find some way to show

A beauty of such total overspill.

This kiss was not just lip and mouth and tongue

But proved that love is ever, ever young.
