Heaven and Earth Are Full

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
Pleni sunt cæli et terra gorya tua.

Both Heaven and earth are full of sly, gory

Results of thy creation.  Black holes eat

The matter and the light around, glory

In deaths consumed.   When starry groupings meet

They have their stars destroyed and swallowed, gulp,

Gulp, GULP.  The galaxies now spread apart

So far that even if they live, their pulp

Will lose all heat thus leaving one cold fart

If even that.  That isn’t on the cards.

The future is a vast cold, cold as dark

As was before thy “Fiat Lux” brought shards

Of ice forever (later), all as loss, fierce, stark.

Forever?  Even shards will be consumed

    By nothingness, thy goriness entombed.
