A teenage is boy is like an enemy,
A foe to him himself, when he is harmed
About the truth of friends. A frienemy
Is what he learns about, a friend who’s charmed
Him but then turns through jealousy to hate
And treachery. Chameleon-like this friend
Turns colors. Sly, he tints to abrogate
Affection. Frienemies begin to blend
The green of envy with the grin of love.
They may not even like you, might despise
Some signal part of you. They wants to shove
You so that they can win with other guys.
They turn on you and suddenly they bring
The tools for enemies to screw in sting.
