“We’ll be singing

              Jubilee”

~ Phillip Whidden

Is Phillip Whidden still an S-d A?

He still eats breakfast cereal, the dry

Type, every morning.  He believes the ray

Of ancient literature from ancient sky

Realms in the semi-arid East is for

Our inspiration.  He espouses views

Of seër sorts that send us strength.  We soar

To poetry’s high realms if we, wise, choose

To let wise words uplift us.  He still drinks

Non-alcoholic prophets’ vintage wines

From scrolls and books.  His core self always thinks

Inspired by Mare Magnum’s long-term vines.

He much prefers the nature of raw silk

Of truth but doesn’t drink down soy-ish milk.
