We Break the Law Together

     We Break the Law Together

We break the law together for the sake

Of beauty.  Beauty turns our sin to love.

The love is sacred and is full of ache

And space, yes constellations far above

Mere moons and decalogues.  We break the law

Because the body and the soul both know

That ecstasy in lawless lust is awe.

The truth is higher than the source of snow.

Decrees are well enough for others yet

A blizzard is a thankless thing. The fur

In front of hearth and burning log brings sweat

To rites. The thrill and agony concur.

The law was made to force our winning through.

Our love demands a lawlessness, a coup.
