The Spiritual Meaning of Kittenhood

The Spiritual Meaning of Kittenhood

She plays with plastic bags until she knocks

Them down from off the easy chairs, and spills

The contents, loudly, clattering (the box

That held the Christmas cookies) and she thrills

To see the spreading chaos.  “This is what

Life’s for!” she thinks, “Well, this and lizard breath

From swallowing them, as their tails go swat,

Swat, swat, while disappearing into death.

Now that is what life’s for!  Of course, the man

Who dotes on me ain’t all that bad.  That’s true,

Especially when feeding me that can

Of special, extra pricey food to chew.”

..She goes to sleep among the ruins, soft

….And sweet as Jesus in the manger croft.
