The Greatest of These

      The Greatest of These

Authoritative, bevelled, and complete

The language of the King James Bible speaks.

It knows, conflation at its height, replete

With meaning and beyond, displays antiques

Behind pure glass, antiques of beauty like

Clean gilded china, glazed with clarity.

At times it bids with trueness as a spike

Inside the ribs.  It speaks of charity

Or else of women who need men to mount

Them, fill them with their issue like a horse.

The message comes with language made to count

Inside the heart like echoes from the source

Of certainty.  A diamond word or phrase

Cuts through our noise, as if hot carats blaze.
