The Gemini

              The Gemini

Most loves are lost the moment they are born.

Their DNA contains the genes to doom

Devotion.  Bonded chromosomes are torn,

Though only slightly.  They become love’s tomb

As well, simultaneous the death and birth.

Invisible, a corpse is there as twin

Of baby sweetness.  Bitterness’s girth

Surrounds them both.  Defeat is there, its grin

Pervading hope.  This is the destiny

Of mortal passions.  In their very germ

Lurks death.  The only element that’s free

In love is dreams, certainly not love’s term.

..Be sure that when love starts an embryo

….Inside your ribs, cancer begins to glow.
