That All Things Work Together
The Lion Heart left Palestine to save
His threatened throne in England, a failure
If ever there was one. And then a grave
Mischance occurred. He became the jail lure
For crippling royal ransom, the sum so vast
It beggared England’s crown, a double blow
To Christendom and mad Crusades. A last
Disgrace befell the king, another woe
In shape of Christian arrow in his neck.
But unbeknownst to him the ransom paid
Was used to build the massive wall, the check
Or rock that stood as Austria’s blockade
..To stop the crescent’s sweep to victory.
….For this, Lord Christ, we lift our praise to Thee.
