Sea Silk Creations

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

It is as if true love is like the sea

Silk fibers now so rare.  The real omits

Them if we do not weave an organdie

Affection.  Beds are full of counterfeits,

The seabeds of the loves of other men—

Of other men and women woven with

The lesser fibers than our own as when

They mumble marriages with mamba myth

Of Eden filled with falsity and lies

Spun out by priests and preachers with false thought.

They speak with straightened tongues from spirit skies

And not from ocean hearts as prophets ought.

True love is hard to fashion from the dregs

Of passion seeking love in realm of eggs.
