Royal Fields and Horizon, Windsor: Crown, Orb and Swaying Sceptre

Royal Fields and Horizon, Windsor:  Crown, Orb and Swaying Sceptre

The gentle foliage arc the hill provides

Because of autumn limbs held up to touch

The blue curved sky, this two-greened arch, divides

The earth from heaven and then joins up much

Besides.  The dual bow of hill and trees

Unites the other curls below.  These sweeps

Are lower binding hedgerow (which agrees

With farmstead roadway up the slope and keeps

To bowing invocation), rows of corn

Set out in slightest swerves, and branches of

October coloured leaves on boughs high borne

To beryl    air—all bent as if in love.

And fixed among this scene is jewelled boss

Of pheasant plumpness coiffed with autumn gloss.
