Ravishing Poetry

                Ravishing Poetry

True poetry is not just beauties, thoughts

Or feelings.   It is something other, more.

It listens more like complicated knots

Awaiting Alexanders for its roar

To be released.  The poem, once unloosed

Inside the non-Platonic cavern of

Your mind, is like a virgin’s thrills seduced.

Seduction is enough, no need for love.

Morality is not required.  The need

Packed into poetry hides, seething deep.

The poem wants your mind to thrust its seed

Inside the slickened tightness, thrust in, steep.

Swept up inside the knot, cold, slick with might,

Your sword will find the poem’s hidden height.
