The only thing better than a kitten
Is . . . kittens! The only thing dafter than
A full-grown, hairy man fondly smitten
By such fur balls is . . . a man and a man
Completely stupid over them. But then
There’s something worse: Antonio in love
With tiny cats, staying up too late when
He knows he needs to work next day, should shove
Off to bed, and Whidden wishing he could
Be there, watch them all pounce and leap and roll
And toy fight—and sleep—through kittenhood,
Each one a little joy, a purring soul.
..Each one would be its own perfect being,
….Except for all their pooing and peeing.
