By Lot’s wife. She had reached the safety of
The town of Zoar. Angels then had flown
Away to angel places, realms of love,
When God rained down the brimstone, fire, and death
Upon the cities of the plain. But she
Remembered wings in motion. Rushing breath
Engulfed her panting lungs when, turned to see
That loveliness just one last time, this wife
Was filled with with petrifying, hottest salt.
She knew the truth. She knew that love is rife
With evil. God then felt He had to halt
Her knowledge. So she never knew the facts
Of daughters’, father’s, husband’s hunching acts.
