Perhaps (Once Eons Go)

          Perhaps (Once Eons Go)

Perhaps (once eons go) the universe
Will disappear.  At last a lingering glow
Will fill the nothingness.  It will immerse
The vacuum in something like the flow
Of honey waves that were my mother’s hair.
Perhaps the endless nullity will swell
With vagrant fragrances like angels’ wear,
Or like my mother’s morning bathtime smell.
Perhaps a silent sound will echo through
The vastness, whiter than unwritten notes
She never penned on pages made of blue-
Edged paper where her diary memory floats.
..But likely it will be Sahara dry
….Aridity, a blanked out lullaby.
