Pastels and Mists are not the Heights of Mystery

Pastels and Mists are not the Heights of Mystery

The air of brilliant autumn days here in

Vermont has something unexplained to say.

New England has a revelation twin

To mystery.  Heavy with a light of day

This revelation’s sense is not revealed.

The mystery is presented but not known,

Retaining truth and certainty concealed.

In other words the mystery is full-blown.

This is why the revelation is more

Real and palpable and splendid than

God’s visions.  It delivers heavenly lore

Which only autumn oversouls may scan.

..Explain it, how these scarlets, golds and greens

….Can hide these paradoxes in fall’s scenes.
