O Holy Night

O Holy Night

(11) O Holy Night. King’s College Choir 2024.Harry Gant, tenor. – YouTube

“til He appeared” ~ Nora Jones

The night I met the beauty of the veins
In wrists undreamed of in God’s Sabbath hour,
When sunset had removed the Georgetown stains
From liquor stores and chichi shops, the power
Of Christ Himself came down through eyes to blood
Of holy spirits in the vessels of
My arteries.  Inside my chest a thud
Of glossolalias of grace and love
Went glistening through a gate of heaven made
Of seraph curls and thrill.  A workman’s palms
That, washing dirt, had failed.  Then healing weighed
Like Jesus’ hands.  My heart heaved up high psalms.
Communion tables never had sent bolts
As fierce as lust. It frazzled ribs with jolts.
