Up perfect muslin into frippery,
A whiteness ruined by embroidered stripes.
A decent plainness turns to slippery
Silk patterning like panties worn by whores.
The simple lines of Shaker churns and chairs
And straight-lined Shaker cherry chest of drawers
Are better than the fanciest of airs.
..So, give up poetry and symphonies.
