Invisible Music Made Opaque

          Invisible Music Made Opaque

The rain falls down as if in chords, as if

A symphony in quietness, playing on

The quietest of instruments as stiff

As thin percussion ones with brushes drawn

Across them, metal brushes on a drum.

The only notes we hear as notes are made

By one male skylark set against the hum

Of almost hiss the rain provides.  The shade

Of trees protects him just enough to let

His music float.  The music of the spheres

Is being stretched out here in this duet,

The music of winged gods and not just years.

..The middle of the rain is pierced straight through

….With birdsong  giving ears another view.
