In the Manly Marriage Bed

In the Manly Marriage Bed

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

When Michal thought about those foreskins while

In David’s wedding bed, just what did he

Obsess about between her legs?  His smile

Produced a sick respect in her since she

Could think of nothing else.  He didn’t sport

One foreskin of his own when meat shoved in

The semen of his manliness.  At court

The king admired him for his ruthless sin

Not knowing Jonathan admired shoved shaft

That Michal grudged.  The hero loved his thing

In her.  None thought about his harping craft

Before.  She couldn’t care that he could sing.

She praised God only that his fleshly swell

Would go and not bring rotten foreskin smell.
