Holiness in a Tennessee Dim Dusk in a Hollow Grove
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
The light of life glows, coolness, and is light
Within the firefly, life within its tail.
This little greenness flashes in the night.
The air around the flashing flight can sail
Though lacking warmness nearly. Each pulsed gleam
Eschews the boredom of a sexy heat,
Though sex is what each wishes. Evening’s dream
Avoids mere boring truth. More like a green sleet
In levitation floats this beauty of
The seeking, roaming for romance. Desire
Drifts everywhere though dim in twilight love.
Desire it seems defies the need for fire.
Don’t bother with explaining facts. The need
Is all that matters, signalling life’s one creed.
