Gurdwara Domes, White and Gold
The gold dome and the white domes, prettier
Than truth, present themselves above the sprawl
Of western London with its grittier
Industrial huge storage tanks. They brawl
Beside the domes with practicality
And oxidation (green). Tanks do not
Know gold, white, or spirituality.
A beautiful religion here is fraught
With factories seen through limbs on the M4.
The Ancient Ones with 24-carat
Philosophy have taught this all before.
Beside our lives we live without merit.
…We live among the motorways and rust.
…..Gods offer manna. We gobble up crust.
