I would not wish any companion in the world but you.  ~ The Tempest

He lived through hurricanes.  A twister passed

His house one time.  His life was rich with change

And then you entered it as if a blast

Of drugged-up love blew in.  No other range

Of needs came like your miracles. You raised

Your hands.  Apostles and the prophets found

Your incarnation there as if you praised

At Pentecost.  His heart was pulled and wound

Against raised wrists and wrapped around your soul.

Were chest and arms and armpits all involved?

He only knew that this new love was whole.

The Christ and God and Spirit were devolved.

The world as he knew it fell away.

No other loves had anything to say.
