Entirety

               Entirety

A hand receives a firefly on its palm
And holds wings for as long as they will stay.
The moment is a time for twilight, calm,
A luminescent quietness, dark and day,

To meld together, briefly, briefly. Brief
The instant, instant, instant but the peace
Is slight though sweetly dim. Like a belief
That comes and goes, a surge of hope will cease
And glow again away from our control.
The quietude remains a while at start
Of summer’s nights. It opens like a scroll
With mysteries that show and then depart.
..The glow is on the hand and softly green
….For future moments, briefly borne and seen.
