Dante and the Divine

               Dante and the Divine

The truth is love alone it is which moves

The sun and stars.  That final line

Of mastery says love alone, love proves

The primal power and makes the heavens a shrine,

And love not only was the first great cause

But also is the passion which compels

The cosmos.  High above all other laws,

The mechanistic ones, love’s vigor swells

Behind mere thermodynamic decrees.

Love climaxes in them all.  They find their course

And weight from gentlest luring of its breeze.

That brightest weight shows gravity its force.

..The sun and stars feel full its brightest fate.

….The universe is ruled from this estate.
