He forms much more than friendship at the shore.

He formulates fun truancy as love.

His friend intuits that their love is more

Than rivalry.  That feelings are above

The rugby and the ruggedness of sweat

Is clear to him but not now to his friend

Who idolizes with his clear eyes, yet

The friendship tends to slant towards the trend

Of one-way worship.  One proposes time

Together at the beach.  They end up in

The dunes alone together.  There they chime.

He says his love before the world of sin.

  The leader (long before the other) knows.

      Beyond male innocence the ocean glows.
