Blended Blood

Blended Blood

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

I want your blood inside my heart.  I want

My blood inside your auricles, your

Enlarging ventricles.  I want to haunt

Them all with scarlet love.  I want love’s pure

Red cells, its purer white ones too.  Along

With those I want our platelets to sweep

All threats of bleeding out.   I want bloods’ strong

Protection.  Blood from me I want, in deep,

Inside the chambers of your heart.  I need

Our bloods mixed in together and to pulse

Around our bodies hot with passion’s speed

Enough to make our double hearts convulse.

I want the force of both our bloods combined

In chests as love and love mix reds aligned.
