A Sonnet is a Breath that Tries to Immortalize a Sigh

A Sonnet is a Breath that Tries to Immortalize a Sigh

If I could tie a knot in time, that knot

Would bind up you and me, a red star bow

Around us for eternity; if not

That long, since even goddesses all know

That nothing lasts forever, then for time

Times time, or times times times the bowing should

Glow outward everywhere so it would rhyme

With endlessness like heaven’s brotherhood

And sisterhood in Christ as John revealed

In Patmos visions quilled in ink.  The noose

Would show why heaven’s holy host has kneeled

For love and why the knot should not come loose.

Love’s googol times love’s googol would result

In something that would make pure love exult.
