Meaning

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

If time has meaning, you are it.  If days

And nights, millennia and eons bear

Some meaning as a stretched out, straightened maze,

You fill them with your blackest, curly hair.

If stretched eternity spreads far beyond

Directions everywhere, beyond spurs space

And time, as if once measurements all dawned,

Those curls of darkness make up hyperspace.

The one eternal present is the hue

Of everything that Christ conceived back when

He spoke light’s being:  he had thought of you.

He made immortal every time back then.

  Black curls together were eternity,

    A timelessness of all supernity.
