Atoms in Space

                Atoms in Space

Infinite lengths beyond the bounds

Where stars revolve their little rounds.

~ Isaac Watts

We know now that the galaxies are in

Their trillions numbered.  So, if we compute

Uncountable trillions of stars that spin

Across the cosmos, each one’s cute—

And not much more—because they’re all so small

Compared to vastnesses beyond our minds.

They have their little rounds and that is all.

The universe makes more and more, unwinds

The ever new ones, and expands them out

Beyond imagination’s power.  The brink

Sways ever farther and the stars can pout

As much as little girls as they shrink

In ratio.  Each sun might have the thought

It’s awesome, but it’s just a tiny jot.
