Detonation with Shadows

     Detonation with Shadows

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

When love explodes inside the chest it turns

The organs in the ribcage into blast.

The heart becomes atomic as it spurns

Control.  The decent gods react aghast

But they are paltry as a penis slack

When it has filled a hole with manly ooze

And turns to broken backbone quarterback.

The milder colors like pastel chartreuse

Are sublimated to an orange consumed

In purple pink as if Saint Valentine

Ignited dignity and left it doomed,

Indecency erupting in his shrine.

Thoracic pain triumphant is this coup,

The turquoise flames the fiercest like stars’ blue.
