Christian Love and MAGA*
These Christians, when they see that church denies
Their politics, decide to leave their faith
Behind. Their savior in this instance lies
To win them, and their Christ becomes a wraith.
He changes to a ghost of mercy, love,
And Good Samaritan-like brotherhood.
They give his binding decency the shove.
They’re on the robbers’ side and, if they could,
These Christians vote for anything that might
Build walls and hatred towards the Muslims, blacks,
And lefties. Christians care about pure white
Mythologies. Forget the slaves in shacks.
The slaughter of red natives on the plains
Should be ignored. White histories don’t have stains.
