Words
“what we wish to say is just that which escapes the words”
I beg to differ. What we wish to say
Awaits in words exactly what we want,
As blossoms want to shape in God’s bouquet,
As maples wish for scarlet in Vermont.
Those lines we wish to wrangle from the herd
Are there. Their horns present no danger while
We capture them and drive them word by word.
We lasso truth and turn the hooves from guile.
We watch for marvels we can turn to gods
Of style, for miracles awaiting voice
Like Lazarus when Jesus’ bidding prods
The darkness as we make our verbal choice.
The words are waiting like so many brides
For their awakening with slick penis slides.
