Whacko Mum, the Desired Dementia

Whacko Mum, the Desired Dementia

Inspired by Sylvia Plath’s “Morning in the Hospital Solarium,” classified as part of her juvenilia and by the actual experience of the wife of Alan in the sonnet.  “hoping for some
incredible dark man
To assault the scene and make some
Gaudy miracle occur”

When sanity is gone, she wants to be

Like Alan’s mother in the old folks’ home

Who lives out every sexy fantasy

That once was only daydream.  Freudian gnome

Inside her skull, she beds with every man

She ever lusted for.  She tells her son

Who visits here about the endless clan

Of cocks she’s riding, each one like a sun

Arising in her cunt on Easter morn.

Her life was death in desperate middle-class

Suburbia, but now her holes are torn

By raping bastards ramming up her ass.

Her son sits there and listens, nodding, calm

As now she drops each mushroom-headed bomb.
