The Ultimate Equation a la Escher
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
Imagine you could see yourself as God
Sees you. Imagine that your eyes could see
As if they might go far beyond an awed
Enlightenment in God’s eternity.
You look at self with eyes that self perceives
As truly as you are, both God and you
Converged in insight. Fused discernment cleaves
The two of you together in a view
That marries both, or more than marries, one
As one completely, fullest impression
That suddenly allows the final stun,
Impression making utter expression.
What witness, though, could grasp this perfect sense
