The Test is Best
You do not need to write to him or call
Until you do important, bigger stuff.
You know YOUR stuff that’s large and not that small
Stuff like the stuff for loving, small enough
Because it’s only stuff for love and not
Important like a driving test and for
Your thesis work. You treat love like some snot
In handkerchiefs, and one who gives you more,
More, MORE and so love isn’t worth the time
To read love’s messages and answer them.
You treat love’s heart as if it were a crime,
Or worse—a blob of coughed up yellow phlegm.
Discard it and ignore love for your TEST.
That’s what your hardened heart decides is best.
