The Eight Legs Can Never Seem Completely Parallel, Especially with a Person with a Soul

The octopus lives trapped inside a tank,

That life a brief one at its best.  No moon

Involves itself in this.  A mortal ankh

Is all the creature’s chance.  It has no lune

Extending to infinities.  The stretch

Of legs, though eight, is limited inside

The cube.  This life is smaller than a ketch,

Two-masted, sails.  This does not coincide

With immortality—no, not at all.

The swimming eyes have panoramic views

But consciousness in this knows life can maul.

The brains know they have everything to lose.

Do you see parallels between this scene

And yours?  And does this help you feel serene?
