Musonius Spoke with Courage to the Marshalled Soldiers

The bravery in Pacifism stands

Against the bullies wearing stripes and bars.

The bullies have their laws and harsh commands.

The bullies are the puppets of the Czars

And Caesars, lying presidents and kings.

The Pacifists stand firm and speak the truth.

Their words are only words; they don’t have wings.

The bullies know no better.  Crewcut youth

Might rough the speakers up but they are strong.

The riff-faff sense this and they have respect

For them.  They sense the speakers, right or wrong,

Are brave.  The bravest men have that effect.

  This happens in the realm of Western men.

    It never happens in the realm of Zen.
