Multiple Wings Hovering in Agility Above Revelation
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poemWaveringly, and not,
Waveringly, and not,
A giant dragonfly floats,
Passes but settles.
~ Issa [Englished by Phillip Whidden]
She did not know she understood until
The words appeared upon the page. The pen
Revealed, as if in séance, like a spill
Of life dressed up like death. Some clauses, then
Wreathed sentences like wings flew down like souls,
Like angels fallen down from heaven with
Light’s Lucifer and searching for the scrolls
Of truth, showed her the meaning of the myth.
Until that moment truth evaded her
The way a dragonfly goes zigging all
About. Then suddenly it settles, sure.
At last it learns where flying feet should fall.
She wrote. She knew. Till then she did not know
But delicate and sinister words glow.
