Metamorphoses

            Metamorphoses

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

Apart, together we at once are both.

We want impossibilities because

They are impossible, a Shabuoth

Of cruising liberty, not crushing laws.

Apart and, yes, together we desire

The ultimate in loves.   Heart perfection

Upheaving hatreds onto death’s own pyre,

We purify together affection.

The orange tree blossoms, citrus yellow white

Become the cherry blossoms, white and pink,

Becoming transmutations at Christ’s height.

The buzzard blossoms out as bobolink.

The moth does not desire the star yet then

They both become winged creatures with us men.
