He Cannot Even Save Himself from Being a Bulked Up Hero

He Cannot Even Save Himself from Being a Bulked Up Hero

Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem

If you have ever dreamed (as others do)

That you can save the world or simply change

It, you are absolutely nothing new.

Not dreaming daydreams you would be most strange,

More alien that Superman, more odd

Than Spiderman who’s human after all

Unlike Clark Kent.  An incel overawed

By normal girls and lacking ball and ball

(And cock for all I know) could never be

As foreign as the Krypton guy whose might

Shines far beyond the dreaming fantasy

Of sleek Kal-El’s unsexy cape-zoom flight.

Remember, dreams are only dreams.  Cartoons

Can’t save despite the biceps like balloons.
